New Cookbooks at the Gilded Lily

We just wanted to share a few of the lovely new cookbooks we've stocked recently!

"Simply Great Breads" was written by America's premier artisanal bread baker,
Daniel Leader. The recipes include crumpets and English muffins; bagels, brioche, and bialys; Parker House rolls; ciabatta; challah; waffles; cider doughnuts; beignets; babka; and even monkey bread. $22.

From the editors of Fine Cooking magazine comes "Fine Cooking in Season: Your Guide to Choosing and Preparing the Season's Best." It features 100 ingredients and 300 recipes, arranged by season. $22.95.

You can learn all you need to know about foraging for and preparing edible mushrooms from "Good Mushroom, Bad Mushroom." Find out which toxic mushrooms to avoid, and see which edible mushrooms you can count on to be delicious. $17.95.

"Cooking With a Baby on Your Hip" makes a great gift for a new mom. It features eight simple recipes, encouragement, colorful illustrations and lots of good cheer. $12.95.

"Cooking for Geeks" is for cooks interested in science, improvising, and learning new techniques. Not for the faint of heart, but not so difficult it's discouraging.

Shop at the Gilded Lily for these cookbooks as well as our other gourmet food guides, children's books, humor books and the occasional quirky tome.
