Music at the Gilded Lily

Ever wonder, as you're browsing through our store, what fun music we're playing in the background? We often get compliments on the peppy vintage style songs we're enjoying throughout the day.

We do sell CDs of most of the music we're playing. The CDs come in a decorative tin, and sell for $18.75 each.

"Tea for 2" features Big Band, Jazz, Swing & Song. Artists include Louis Armstrong with Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Dean Martin. Songs include "I've Got You Under My Skin," "Unforgettable," and Mel Torme's "Don't Fan the Flame."

This week we're also playing Nat King Cole's "In the Mood for Love," featuring his songs "You Should Have Told Me," "Dream a Little Dream of Me," "Sweet Lorraine," and "I'm Thru With Love" as well as others.

"Rock Around the Clock" features "Tutti Frutti" and "Good Golly Miss Molly" by Little Richard, Gene Chandler's "Duke of Earl," "Shake, Rattle and Roll" by Bill Haley, and "Blue Suede Shoes" by Carl Perkins, among other 1950s rock and roll classics.

Our other background CDs this week include "Midnight at the Oasis," "Pop Hits of the 1970s" and "Sinatra in Love."

We're also playing British singers "The Puppini Sisters," enjoying their 1940s style cover songs of modern tunes including "Walk Like an Egyptian," "Heart of Glass," "Mr. Sandman," and "I Will Survive." Unfortunately we don't sell their CD in our store yet!
